Fairy “tiles”

Materials
Terracotta tiles
acrylic colors in pastels tones
gesso
découpage paers (Peg Maltby’s fairies)
embossing foil and tools
scissors
découpage glue
water base varnish
Mother of pearl thick color
brushes
silicon
Instructions:
01 – Before starting to decorate your tiles apply one or two coars of gesso on the tile’s surface.

02, 03 – Realize your background choosing between pastel tones acrylic colors. You can have special tone effects by sprinkling different colors with a hard brush.

04 – Cut fairies’ prints but separate wings, glue then apply several coats of varnish.

05, 06 – Glue wings on an embossing foil. Cut and shape them with your fingers or using an embossing tool.

07, 08 – Glue wings near the fairies’ bodies using a small blob of silicon.

09, 10, 11 – Use a thick mother of pearl color (add liquitext gloss varnish) to highlight details like wings or tutus.

This project can be used to realize also 3D découpage pictures.
